Fonon Corporation Announces Initial Revenue Guidance for First Fiscal Quarter 2016

February 11, 2016

Company’s first profitable quarter fueled by existing order backlog and new bookings of laser material processing products

LAKE MARY, FL, February 9, 2016 – Fonon Corporation (FNON) today announced its expectation of a profitable first quarter of fiscal 2016 based on its total reportable order backlog, which exceeds $1 million in open orders.

The new order backlog of Fonon’s laser material processing systems consists of orders for which written authorization has been accepted and shipment dates assigned, and shipments which have occurred but for which revenue has not yet been recognized.

Sales of new products, including the MarkStar Professional handheld laser marking system, into the automotive, biomedical, aerospace, glass and defense industries have been bolstered by demand trends across Fonon’s core market of industrial manufacturing.

“In Q1 of 2016 the Company entered into a strong revenue-generating stage, based on booked sales orders of new Company products for 2D and 3D laser marking, cutting and engraving,” said Dmitriy Nikitin, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Fonon.  “This is a direct result of prior investments, dynamic execution of the Company 2015 Reorganization Plan, and shareholder confidence in our technology, products and team.”

These statements about estimated results are preliminary and expectations do not include the potential impact of any new product sales or development agreements that Fonon may enter into during the balance of Q1 2016.

Fonon Introduces Advanced Technology for 3D Metal Printing

February 1, 2016

Bulk-To-Shape technology provides the quickest path to printing quality metal parts for production

LAKE MARY, FL / ACCESSWIRE / February 1, 2016 / Fonon Corporation (FNON) today unveiled its Bulk-To-Shape technology, an umbrella of 3D printing technologies representing a transformational approach to industrial, application-specific metal additive manufacturing. The new technology enables manufacturers to reliably integrate 3D metal printing into full production environments, and demonstrates a potentially disruptive key shift in industrial manufacturing.

While first-generation 3D metal printing has transformed the prototyping process by shrinking cycle times and reducing development costs, collective industry experience has determined that these systems have not been effective, reliable, or sustainable as tools for full production. First-generation additive manufacturing technology has proven unable to consistently produce high quality and highly functioning components, particularly when dealing with complex parts.

Bulk-To-Shape technology, available exclusively from Fonon Corporation, provides a cost-effective method for developing application-specific 3D metal printing tools. A combination of proprietary processes, a profound understanding of the molecular behavior of materials under transitional temperatures and intellectual property accumulated over decades of success building metal laser sintering products, Fonon Corporation’s Bulk-To-Shape technology enables industrial manufacturers to bridge the gap between prototyping and full production.

“Medical, aviation, automotive, and space industry metal printing experts use a measurement system called Manufacturing Readiness Level to classify additive manufacturing machines,” said Louis Schlegel, Vice President of Fonon Corporation. “While Manufacturing Readiness Level Ten represents machines ready for production, these experts have classified currently-available systems as within a range of Level Four to Level Six.”

Schlegel stated, “Bulk-To-Shape technology is the quickest path for these industries to achieve Manufacturing Readiness Level Ten.”

Bulk-To-Shape technology is available immediately for application development. Contact Fonon for additional details.

Fonon Corporation: The Golf Store Journey

September 8, 2015

Long-term dream realized by John Callihan, owner of The Golf Store, with purchase order for the company’s LaserTower™ Compact

LAKE MARY, FL-(September 8th, 2015)-Fonon Corporation (“Fonon”) is pleased to announce that dreams do come true.  Fonon reaches out to their customer base on a routine basis to keep in touch.  Deep within our CRM archives was John Callihan, owner of the Golf Store in Houston, Texas.  John had been inquiring about an engraving machine for years to customize his club heads.  He started his company in 2004, building his business and expanding his operations to include custom fitting his clients’ clubs.  Every so often he would re-engage with us, eyeing the LaserTower™ Compact and dreaming of expanding his business.  Each time John would get closer and closer but would pull back, realizing he had no practical experience operating a laser marking system or working with software to create the artwork to be laser etched into the golf club.

This time, however, two people helped change his mind.  His daughter Emily and Fonon account manager Steve Russ.  Once again, John called to inquire about the LaserTower™ Compact, asking question after question.  Steve traced his history in CRM realizing John had been active in the system for years.  It was time to help him out.  First, his daughter told him she could work with the software after reading through the manual.  Second, Steve kept telling him how user friendly the system is if he just took a leap of faith.

John and his daughter recently completed their in-house training on the LaserTower™ Compact commenting, “I know I am the little guy with a dream.    Steve was patient each time I called, which included more than one weekend and evenings.  Even the Vice-President reached out to me with encouragement.  Today, I just realized how straightforward it is to operate these systems while my daughter slam-dunked the software training.  I really appreciate the extra effort invested by Fonon in helping me achieve my dream.”

We encourage “golfers” to visit John’s store in Houston, Texas to support his growing small business.  Give John a call at (832) 659-6465 and see what he can do to personalize your clubs.

The LaserTower Compact is the ideal entry level system for owners just like John.  Our industrial-grade, plug-n-play systems are designed for ease-of-use and require no maintenance. Today, we gained a friend.

Fonon Corporation’s Micro-Stamping Technology Enhances Ballistics Identification Allowing Traceability to Firearms

August 18, 2015

Micro-engraving unique ID Codes on firing pins provide forensic scientist with new tools for solving crime scenes

LAKE MARY, FL-(August 18th, 2015)- Fonon Corporation (“Fonon”) is pleased to announce recent advances in laser micro-engraving technology allowing the precise, microscopic stamping of unique ID codes on firing pins making it possible to link shell casings recovered at crime scenes to the firearm that fired them.  When the firearm is discharged, a unique alpha-numeric code identifying the weapon’s make, model and serial number is “fingerprinted” onto the primer or rim of the cartridge case.

Fonon’s advanced micro-stamping technology now provides firearm manufacturers with new tools that help law enforcement deter gun trafficking.  Traffickers generally purchase guns with the intent to illegally transfer the weapon to others.  Traffickers who purchases guns for this purpose would now be on notice that the cartridge shell could be used to trace the gun back to them if the gun was used in the commission of a crime.

081815The American Bar Association (ABA) has recommended that federal, state, and territorial governments enact microstamping laws that would enable law enforcement officers to identify the weapon used in a crime and the purchaser of the firearm.  The ABA concluded, “Microstamping technology will be a material aid to law enforcement in the effort to solve crimes committed by use of guns.”  With California taking the lead, similar legislation continues to be discussed in New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maryland, Wisconsin and Illinois with other states monitoring the legislation progress.
